Iran Tile Export Report – 2024
According to Ceramland’s Iran tile Export data, Iran exported 2,619 shipments of Tile from Oct 2023 to Sep 2024 (TTM). These exports were made by 537 Iran Exporters to 339 Buyers, marking a growth rate of -45% compared to the preceding twelve months.
Within this period, in Sep 2024 alone, 144 Tile export shipments were made from Iran . This marks a year-on-year growth of 0% compared to Sep 2023, and a 0% sequential growth from Aug 2024.
Most of the Tile exports from Iran go to the Pakistan , Uzbekistan , and Kazakhstan .
Globally, the top three exporters of Tile are China, India, and Italy . China leads the world in Tile exports with 1,260,580 shipments, followed by India with 846,795 shipments , and Italy taking the third spot with 799,099 shipments.

he said on Tuesday that some 40% of the tiles and ceramics produced in Iran, or nearly 200 million square meters, are exported to other countries.

He said that more than 150 factories are currently producing tiles and ceramics in the country, creating some 450,000 direct and indirect jobs.
The official said the ingredients and raw materials needed across the Iranian tiles and ceramics industry are mostly sourced from domestic suppliers, adding that some domestics companies have also started manufacturing machinery for the industry.
he said a main advantage of producing tiles and ceramics in Iran is the country’s vast mining and minerals sector which supplies the raw material needed by manufacturers.
Exports of tiles and ceramics has been a major source of earning hard currency for Iran in recent years especially amid sanctions that have restricted the country’s exports of crude oil.
Industry figures show a bulk of Iranian-made tiles is exported to Iraq while Pakistan is also taking delivery of large shipments.

Exports to Russia and countries in the Caucasus region have also been on the rise in recent years and many expect Iran’s share in those markets to increase with the finalization of a free trade deal between Iran and the Russia-led EAEU economic bloc.
Iran has also banned the imports of tiles and ceramics while creating especial customs facilities for exporters in major manufacturing hubs, including the central province of Yazd which is responsible for 50% of the total tiles and ceramics output in the country.
